http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2007-06-18-google-hybrid-cars_N.htm?loc=interstitialskip Is there any industry that Google will not penetrate, eventually?
That's really more like a contribution towards hybrid car making. I can just see it now Google/Toyota's 'Grius' or maybe 'Goorius' hybrid. lol.
I could see them branding a model like you have King Rach ford trucks, or shelby mustangs etc They'll prob put an onoard computer in, with nav, google maps, points of interest, wifi , and of course google search etc i can see it sometime soon actually
Just wonderful...a car you can only drive if you're popular with other car drivers (or an authority of coarse). I suppose it stops working too if you don't tell it about all the other cars you've paid to drive...huh?
Do you think that cars that look the same will also be affected? Maybe penalise them with a lower performance
They are also sponsoring the Stanford Racing Team and their robot car entry for the DARPA Urban Challenge; you know, the contest for making self-driving cars. In the future we might be able to buy a Google branded self-driving electric car!
Wouldn't surprise me. Where I live the same company that makes cell phones makes chocolate and has a very large chain of discount retail stores. Oh yeah, and they make motorcycles and have a few theme parks. There are about 8 of these companies that "do it all". I still think that corporations do better when they stick to their core competencies.
well i guess thats a great news as that would be a technologically advanced car. i think it will have more adsense ads on it =0, onboard google search option, igoogle page and many other google services will be added! so everyone buy the car!!! but for now my point of view is: that car is ugly!
What else should Google do with all the extra cash they are earning?!?! Microsoft will definitely follow suit.
Apparently they are aiming for a USB type plugin. Does this mean you can charge up your car from your laptop or mobile phone? Man...you'd wanna have some pretty big batteries if true!!! Col
Most cars are capable of charging themselves pretty efficiently, high output alternators in excess of 300 amps are available. I think 4-6 300 amp alternators would make more than enough power, external voltage controller and allowing to switch on/off alternators depending on the charge.
