Hello, I usually get about 250 hits a day, and today i only got 120. Something is wrong with Google SE or maybe they are getting ready for that PR update. It also could be that my site is messed up but I dont think thats the case because yesterday i got 250 hits. Any idea what this could be? my site is http://voipcallsforfreeworldwide.blogspot.com/ Thanks
You really need to know where your traffic was coming from before the drop as by looking at your visitor stats now you would be able to see which traffic is missing, and then address that issue. Are you using some form of stats program such as Google Analytics or StatCounter? Please let us know this first.
I use statcounter mostly and i do have analytics as well. I saw a huge drop in my organic hits. Other than that I dont know what else you want to know
I write for several article sites and we have all been getting lower hits across the board. My position has dropped on all of those profiles. It has to be Google. No way can every article site online be getting lower hits all at one time unless it's the search engines' fault.
I have seen devaluing of articles slowly for the last 2 weeks. 3 of our blogs have dropped. Google has been rolling out an algo change that seems to have settled at this point. We have noticed our shopping sites gaining and article sites falling. Still working on figuring out what changes in the algo prompted this so we can see if we can adjust or not. Th only conclusion I can come up with off the cuff is that Google is rolling out the yearly holiday algo a little early this year. You know the one they claim year after year doesn't exist but we all know better.
ya i gaurantee its not my site. When i search for a recent post I made and search the title, i get my Main home page and then when i expand it my new Post is on the list. this has never happened before and its making me mad, because this means less traffic = less sales.
Evaluate the type of searches that are missing such as particular keyword phrases and see if anything has altered in serps!
