OK the stats are from Alexa, that says it all! Try hitwise or neilsen that they are a lot more accurate! My 90% of traffic comes from google! (still)
Don't forget to note MSN is the default page in Internet Explorer 7, it's why they suddenly raised in alexa's rank
I heard some story a week back, there was some talk that MSN might possibly be purchasing Yahoo! has anyone heard any more about this deal? If that did or does in fact happen.. it will be interesting to see how it plays out.. as far as search engine power and ranking.
Nope .. that was just a rumour ... I don't think yahoo will ever sell .... at least now when they are acquiring new companies ...
Okay venetsian, Yea.. I was curious about how much weight the talk of that deal held! Thanks for Reply! Boulder
it seems really google going down. But i never thought that it would happened. I knewed all the time that is it on top.
About 80% from Google for me. A number of peeps are confused in here. Alexa is measuring page views, not the number of searches, and that graph is an accurate representation of that.
Alexa stats is just computation of approximate visitors.. And I think Alexa is Yahoo affiliate... Just look at the Alexa ranking of two The google is number two in Alexa and Yahoo is the number 1.. And the MSN is just number 3 in ranking. What do ya think... Google is dominating...They buy more sites... like technorati, mozilla and more....
MSN is not gaining on Google, they lost market share in the last two quarters...Alexa stats are not reliable at all.
No i dont think so....for example you make a research only for google.com...but people from uk use google.co.uk...people from india use google.in....and so on..
Varies for various niches. Entertainment, Google is still rock steady. Software Dev, Msn and Yahoo doing good . I love all three of 'em, until they continue to send traffic . ~G
It wasn't justa rumor, it was a serious one. And judging by the wayyahoo currently struggling to compete with Google, it seems it won't be too long before Yahoo is snapped up. Now, it might not necessarily be Microsoft, though they are the most likely buyer.
I just ran the numbers on one of my more established, stable sites (indexed since 2002), which is http://www.aaronsfreebies.com It shows that about 80% of traffic still comes from the big G Make sure to take into account the properties that the G owns, such as the international versions and AOL, etc.
