I haven't noticed any spam in google, however, I have noticed that my site's
rankings in the serp has been very inconsistent lately.

I agree completely with the OP. I've noticed a few sites hiding links in their pages, using cookie cutters and keyword stuffing techniques and they've all shot up the rankings since the last update. This is nothing to do with good SEO, because the sites themselves are garbage because of it. Google does seem to be letting it's standards slip of late.

I haven't noticed any more spam than usual...It might be because of the keywords you are searching for

For health related products right now there's only spam. Man, what happened? I worked hard on some new sport sites and when I checked my other stats today... crap! No wonder my sales are now equal to zero.

I haven't had big traffic anyway but some of my old blogs with only original and unique content are just ... not in the index  It never happened to me since 2002. Some sites with quality content are now out of google's index.

That's very strange, maybe they are preparing another major update. Or they cannot fight seo spam. Either way it sucks for me.

I've seen one site hiding an entire article on their homepage which is hidden with CSS (you can only view it by clicking a very discreet link) filled with Google bait. It's there for a search engine, much of it doesn't even make sense. They also have dozens of duplicate pages with only a few words altered, and countless empty documents with follow robot metas. Again purely for search engines. No doubt he's been reported, but Google has done nothing.

I'll tell you why. Because advertisers pay Google good money to have their shit in the listings, in terms of Adwords. Google's a spam index as we know it.
