According to my personal experence google's search engine is more rich and fast than yahoo. just i searched word "valentinement" in yahoo and google i found 571 entries in yahoo and 118,000 in google, do this experence yourself
Yeah, really Google is faster than yahoo and almost all other search engines. No doubt at all regarding this point.
Honestly, I don't think more people use Yahoo! for search. They have a good following amongst elderly internet users... babyboomers and such. Those people use Yahoo! for everything... email, news, online dating, finance, AND search. It's their home page. But really Yahoo!'s marketshare for search has been declining steadily for years since Google came on the scene. About 70% of all internet searches are done via Google the last time I checked. And that is about the percentage of search traffic we get from Google for our brand commercial site. I think Google's results are always better than those at Yahoo!, MSN, and Ask. I can get the answer to anything typically in 1, maybe 2, searches. I joke w/ people that Google has become the other half of my brain. I typically optimize for Google and for the most part could care less how I rank at Yahoo!, MSN, and Ask. I don't even really consider Ask a search engine anymore. I used to work for a sister company of Ask where they installed the Ask toolbar on all of our desktops. I removed it and refused to use it LOL. And yes... Google seems to crawl the web faster and their SERPs adjust much faster to changes on the web. I have over 4000 301 redirects that have been in place since the first week in Dec and Yahoo! is still showing the old URLs in their index and SERPs. My old URLs were all gone from Google in a matter of a couple of weeks. My new URLs started showing up within hours of installing the redirects. Yahoo! really is behind the times and doing a crappy job at competing w/ Google. It really is sad considering they ruled the search market late '90s.
