You are probably hitting different datacenters. Ping Google.com and get the IP then use that address to monitor your rankings instead and see if it happens.

Google is updating continually and it happens all the time. Up and down. Do not be worried about it. Just work on your SEO.

If I was as rich as Google I would be drunk too! LOL! Hell, I am right now and I dont make more than $200/day from my old computer. But seriously, Thats the google dance Its their constant indexing process which is ongoing and your rankings will always change. Dont pay much attention. I focus on the big picture as I maintain over 2,000 google rankings. I know a single top ranking can be very valuable, but It would (personally) drive me nuts if I watched a particular ranking go up and down.

Your ranking will remain in the same area if you have relative backlinks. You may be #2 tomorrow.

I rank from no. 1 to nowhere at this time. Then back to no. 1 after a month. I don't know why Google is unpredictable like the mood swings of a 40-year-old virgin.

This up and downs are a normal thing to Google especially when a website is new. In time if you develop it and add links it will establish on high serps.
