This is news to me, am I the only one that didnt know this? okay, I only just found this and it was quite a shock: This will probably only work if you’re in the UK Search: Reading chemistry tutor and then: reading chemistry tutor Two completely different results, LocalTutor isn’t even present in the second option Obviously Reading and reading are two completely different things in the UK since Reading is a town. But I had no idea Google takes into account the case of words! Could this mean we also have to pay attention to cases when getting inbound links? Its the same with so many other searches too! Has it always worked this way, is this a recent change in the algo or am I really dumb for not knowing this already? eppps!
I tested it on co.uk and LocalTutor was there at same place( 4th ) in both searches. Please check again.
screen shots attached: I don’t understand why I should get different results, unless I am hitting different servers for the different queries
I thought it was known. Google just recently (within a month or two??) made their search engine case sensitive. Mentioned on the Google blog .
I guess thats what happens when you look away from SEO forums for a month or 2, I had no idea! It seems some of my search results are very different depending on case (some 1st page, but the lowercase version not even on the tenth)
It's actually been like this for at least 6-7 because that's when I first noticed it. I didn't know Google publicly stated this, can you proved the URL? Thanks
I would also like to see the official announcement.. getting errors instead of pic..use any third party...
Weird... I'm 100% sure I read it on the GoogleBlog (googleblog.blogspot.com) within the last two months (cause I was on vacation while reading it) and it was talking about the searches and how things were case sensitive... but I can't find it for some reason.
Did you clear your cache and cookies and history? Do your search from a clean browser (ie no google cookie tracking and sucking up your search history) and see if you still get the same difference in results.
Its showing the same results for me using google india and google us. Anyway, results may differer if the site is geo targeted.
I am in the UK and using google.co.uk. You show in second place for both terms for me. First place when I select pages from the UK only.
