Google is blocking my rank tracking, flagging my IP

    Hey All,

I just want to see if this is happening to anyone else.

Lately my rank tracking software is not pulling data from G because they keep nailing me with a CAPTCHA and flagging my IP. This has never happened before and I haven't been doing anything different.

When I check Bing everything is fine.

Is this happening to anyone else? Did Google implement some type of filter for mass queries? It's not like I'm doing thousands of keywords, maybe 500 max.

    Thanks,
    beerSEO

I have around 50 sites, but never occurred such stuff on any of my site. By the way what software you are using, maybe its the software's error which is giving you wrong reports about your site. I have been also using seo-elite, try this next time for more detailed report for your backlinks too ;)

Try to avoid software's as much as you can. If at all you need to use one try to read google's T & C carefully

Haha...Google's guidelines, meh...but for real, they flagged my IP and I get catcha's all the time now. It's been happening all week, so bogus.

I'm using seo powersuite from link-assistant (the free version).

I will have to start using proxies, not really too keen on how to do so though. Any thoughts?

I use Powersuite and IBP, and lately have been getting captchas from Google with both tools. So, I guess, Google just started issuing captchas and blocking automated queries more often..
Anyway, I emailed their support and they recommended to use the proxy rotation or the human emulation feature. I enabled both, and that has largely solved the problem. It's not running as well as before, though, but I hope they will do something about it soon, since I really like the software.
Oh, BTW, I noticed that it works better if I check less keywords at a time.

Thanks for the input man...I had to tell Powersuite to send me the captchas, such a pain! It seems to be working better though, so maybe either Powersuite came out with a fix and/or G doesn't care anymore (which I doubt).

Google used to start showing captchas if you send lots of automated requests in quick succession

Yes, avoid the use of software for keyword checking or tracking.
