Google is at it again.

    My sitecount doubled today, which was a surprising change I guess. Unlike a lot of people, my overall count is still high - 45,000ish and my sitemap contained 50,000 until I removed it a second ago to see if it makes a difference.

    The supplemental pages remain though with only 77 of the 45,000 'genuine'. Everything is unique, the domain is a few years old, it's a normal site.

    Don't count on it, that increase was purely coincidental. I'd expect the effects of removing the sitemap to happen within about a week of the event so I'll report back and tell you if any of those supplemental pages are gone.

    That increase was purely flux, it's back to the previous count now.
