For the last 2 weeks my sites has been stable at 420 indexed pages even though I've been adding pages daily and am well over 1,000. I just checked and they started dropping again, down to 350. Anyone else loosing pages today?

A few months ago I had a lyrics site with over 100k pages indexed... dropped down to 500, then to 150. It was like that for a couple of months... and today I have 22 left :D

    Ridiculous

Several DC's are showing mixed results. I think it's going to be a while before they get their act together

I think they are testing if they will lose something to remove those pages from the index. They are putting them supplemental and will check improvments in their benchmarks

frankly speaking, one of my sites which has genuine, totally unique content hasnt lost a page and is quite stable in this regards. In fact its indexed pages have seen a rise in recent days. I am also seeing a reasonable rise in traffic from big G on this site.

My sites whose pages dont have that much unique content are quite volatile with regards to the number of indexed pages in recent days.

Yeah I have a blog and I would say it is unique since I write it. The blog, except for the main page, isn't indexed at all.

I'd love to see it when they fix the stupid bugs.

This is nothing to do with 'original content' sites being left untouched while 'duplicate content' sites- or 'bad linking' sites are deindexed. If that was the intention, an enormous number of 'original content' sites have been erroneously classified.

Two weeks ago I put up a new site, only 4 pages, all written myself, original content. I added it to a couple of directories to get it in the index, and linked twice from one of my own sites (held in a different country, different server etc). The directories were free, low PR, so there can be no suspicion of buying high PR links, or unnaturally quick link building. Trust me, I played by the book. Within a few days the 4 pages were indexed. Now the index page has disappeared. No history of bad linking is possible with a site this new. I have another site that is on the same server and is still indexed, so the server isn't a 'bad neighbourhood'.

Not to mention other sites I have that are completely original eg for a rental property and 3 years old and have been largely deindexed.

All speculation about the cause of the problem is, I think, fruitless. It's not age of site, it's not bad linking, its not WordPress, or any of the other suggestions that have been made. And suggestions that many of us have been de-indexed because of not being 'original' enough are, well, not useful.

Funny thing, even though my pages went down by over 25% overnight, my traffic from Google is up about 25% today. They must have wiped out my competition even more.
