Getting some weird results if I do a search for keywords in google

Basically google is showing othersites that use the same Virtual server as us as being our site

    example search

    "babbage computing limited" -site:babbage.ie -site:babbage.biz

to search for those words excluding our two domains

In the results I get at about number 8 position

Babbage Computing Limited >> Babbage Computing Limited >> Making ...

    boards.multigl.net/article2.html - 27k - Supplemental Result - Cached - Similar pages

"boards.multigl.net" is another website hosted on the same ip address

we use hardhathosting.com and use a VDS (virtual dedicated server) using a shared Ip address

there are many other examples of this where google is showing another website as having our content.

If you go to the site you get a 404 error so it just seems to be google getting confused

    Any thoughts?

    Messed up big time.

In the cache's of those pages I see the same files in the nav menu but with a different domain in front of them.

Maybe you should (if you don't already do that) use absolute paths in all links to make it a little easier for the bot.

But I would definitely e-mail Google about this.

    Yeah Ditto.

I haven't checked myself, but if what you're describing is accurate (and not some screwed base href or the like) > that's a MAJOR screw-up.

Just goes to show the significance of C Class Ip's tho :)

Very good point indeed. Proof that G can regard same IP as same site if they decide to (this time, apparently for the wrong reasons).
