Google & International sites

I believe that Google is already implementing changes in the international algorith.

Today I read on Matt Cutts blog about Google concentrationing a bit on the international sites in various languages (Non English). This affects my market which is Japan & I have to say already at the office (SEO company I work at) we are suddenly getting some big clients asking why they suddenly fell off the map in the last couple of days. I don't mean little companies but well established portals. After I analyzed their site I noticed they were not optimized to US Google standards but they would have done well with the way the SE in Japan were last year.

I know many of you will say that every very of Google is the same as some of you also think there is just one Google. Google Japan produces extremely different results than Google.com & even if you type in Japanese terms in Google.com it doesn't always produce the same results as Google.com especially adsense ads don't show up even if you are physically in Japan (which I am).

I believe that Google is restructuring the international algorith already so you international fellas be ready to change your methods.

I've been a big promoter of IDN domains (native character domains) & see a boost of IDN domains in search results in Google Japan.
Just today I notice はてな.jp pop up.

This affects the international market but I know there are some international folks here who just might not notice yet. International SEO has probably changed a bit this year...

Anyone else noting a bit of difference in your regions?
