i am doing keyword research for an upcoming website.
(for its Organics SEO, and specially for On-Page SEO).

i have tested my keywords list on both "Google AdWords KeyWord Tool" & "Google Insights (for 1 year time period)"
the results are different, i am in confusion that should i prefer results from "KeyWord Tool" or from "Goolge Insights" ????????

    kindly help me

First, I would like to mention you should get Micro Niche Finder. I guess it has more ranking information for yourself. I would use keyword research as my first step. Make a list of 20 relevant to your niche and find out how competitive it is by looking over the keyword phrase in Google.

Usually, if its under 1,000,000 results, you should be okay ranking for it. It all depends on how hard you work at getting the spot. Then do some article marketing, onpage seo, videos etc.. Use both tools don't go against Google, just use what you can.

The two are measuring completely different things - Google Insights doesn't return search volume - it's showing trends on a comparative, normalised scale.
For search volume - use the Adwords tool - exact match only
For patterns and trends in search - use Insights

Google Keyword tool will give you the Global Monthly Searches for a particular keyword.

While "Google Insights for Search analyzes a portion of worldwide Google web searches from all Google domains to compute how many searches have been done for the terms you've entered, relative to the total number of searches done on Google over time. "

The numbers that you see on the graph of Google Insights, and which seem different to the Google keyword tool are because "The numbers on the graph reflect how many searches have been done for a particular term, relative to the total number of searches done on Google over time. They don't represent absolute search volume numbers, because the data is normalized and presented on a scale from 0-100. Each point on the graph is divided by the highest point, or 100. When we don't have enough data, 0 is shown. The numbers next to the search terms above the graph are summaries, or totals."
