I read on someones blog (I think a DP users one) that Google is now indexing sites in less than 24 hours now, that's obviously good yeah?
This is very true, my site got indexed withing 5 minutes .. News portals gets indexed very fast too, even digitalpoint gets indexed almost every minute.
If you post daily on your blog or site and have some decent inbound links you will get indexed several times a day...
I got a new site with 0 links - not even submitted to Digg or anything like that, just submitted a sitemap to Google and the crawl began 10 minutes later, within 10 further minutes 76 pages were indexed, 46 cached. I thought that was pretty impressive
When I first started I was told it could take a few months but my site got indexed in about a day. Seems it's gone down even further now, I think blogs and Google wanting the most up to date index were the keys to the changes, not necessarily the technology.
I wish it were consistently so. I submit a new sitemap.xml whenever I add a new inner page. Indexing of that new page averages a week or so later. It's not a new site: home page PR is 5, many inner pages are PR3 and 4. Traffic is good. I link to every new page from my PR5 home page until the new page is indexed. It still takes, on average, a week or so.
ive had pages indexed within 10mins i submit my sitemap automatically after every post does the trick
Just submit your site with sitemap in google webmaster and make some link and you will be indexed quiqly.
Social bookmarking and pinging works great for a quick crawl, you often see the bot in your logs about 30 seconds after a pingomatic ping for example....doesn't matter if it's a blog or not.
It depends on the popularity of your site... the more sites link to you the more frequent spiders are visiting your websites!
Crazy Google never leaves my site, he's always indexing! It's for 9 days: Googlebot Hits: 115815+8 - Size: 3.13 GB
well the indexing is fast though you have to wait about 1-3 months for your targeted keyword to rank on a position .
