Since July of last year I got over million his from GoogleBot. Yesterday when I did a "site:mysite.com" it showed 556,000 pages from my website indexed on google. But when I try to browse through the serps google stop at "Results 171 - 172 of about 556,000". Can some one explains to me why this is happening. Does this mean my website is in sandbox?

when you check for indexing don't you use "link:"? becuase i know my site isn't indexed yet but when i type in "site:mysite.com" i get about 500 resualts.

Im still a noob at this but i think you have to use "link:" to check for indexed pages.

site: is the operator to check for indexing. link: will tell you what sites linked to your page. You may want to refer:
    http://www.google.com/help/operators.html

theman84, try to do a search on Yahoo. Are the amount of results the same?

Google is updating faster right now about their indexing. My site's indexed page is increasing dramatically. There is something you have to do to make your indexed pages increase or maintain it.
