Hi, I run a vb forum. Every thread/post is available to the guests.I hide nothing except the private messages and other admin stuff. Now my questions is that I have head that google is little funny about crawling the forums. How can i make google to index my forum like every minute If its possible ?
You can't control how frequently google crawls your site. There is an option in webmasters tool i guess ..but that doesn't guarantee anything ... it all depends on how frequently contents are updated regularly ...
Google'ing pulls this up: http://ask.metafilter.com/73252/Is-there-a-way-to-force-Google-to-reindex-a-webpage-right-away Depending on what software you use, you may have an option for providing a rss feed and sending out a ping to note that has been updated. If you send out pings to any of the services that Google pay attention to, it'll note it and respider your site when it comes up again. Please note that constant update pings will get your site banned from many ping services. Just keep that in mind. I don;t think you;re going to get the spiders to reindex every minute though.
Found this: http://webscripts.softpedia.com/script/Modules/Other-Modules/Vbulletin-Ping-Posts-41364.html Not sure if it'll work for whatever version you're using. I only host two vBulletin installs and they're both managed.
create a sitemap, go to your google webmaster account and submit your sitemap, and you need a better serp to increase the number of indexed pages
