Google Indexing Flash Content? But Displaying random E-Mails as well?

    Yeah. That was really odd.. Interesting that they actually pick up on Flash finally though.

    But what is up with those E-Mail displayed as an HTML Code which say "mailto"??

    they are indexing the file but not the content in the flash. As for the mailto:ms@big7.net, it is indexed because it is found in the page code of the file.View source code and you can find the mailto in it.

    Google does index the text content of Flash/Shockwave files and has done so for a couple of years now. But those documents are not considered to be a part of the parent document and are ranked as separate documents. So between the uniform lack of PageRank and lack the ability to emphasize keywords the way you can with an HTML document, they rarely rank for anything. Do a search for common website words like 'ordering' but add 'filetype:swf' to just search Flash documents and you'll see these documents listed complete with titles and - for many - snippets. Google will also detect and follow complete URL links embedded in Flash documents.
