Google Indexed Two Different Types Of My Domain Name

My domain is appearing in google with & with out the www at the beginning.
I don't plan on listing the domain with www at the beginning.

Will I get penalized by google for duplicate content, this is a new manually
installed wordpress blog, how can I correct this or should I not worry.

In rare cases your site may suffer from having duplicate content - not really a penalty. There are two things you can do immediately to begin correcting the problem. See below.

Go into your Google Webmaster Tools account and set the preferred domain to either www or without.

With a 301 redirect you can choose which version you want displayed. Here is a link to get you started.

Making the 301 redirect will have the advantage you get all link juice flowing to just one of them (i.e. not both the www and non-www version which are duplicates of each other)

As far as I remember, wordpress does that job for you, at least in its latest versions.

301 direct is the only option and add 'www' before your url in wordpress control panel 'options'.

Do a 301-redirect now to prevent future probs.
Yep! There's an option available for it. You need to edit table.
