Google indexed pages dropping significantly?

I've noticed a significant drop in Google indexed pages to my site recently (just lost over 1,000 overnight). Although I haven't noticed a decrease in traffic it's starting to worry me. What can cause this and is this something I should worry about?

Google indexed your page and found somthing wrong on your site that's why you are drooping, make a proper content relevant to your site, make a new site map and submit it on Google. Do link exchange and earn some quality backlinks. You will get your position .

some times it happens with google. There is nothing to fear about this here. Create a sitemap containing all the pages of your website and submit it in the google's webmaster tools. You will be able to see an increase in the number of indexed pages very soon.

Maybe after indexing your page, they found something wrong with your site so it started dropping. Do proper Seo for your site and google might index it again.

Actually, these days there are a lot of hackers... my indexed pages dropped, and so did the traffic - suddenly i realized that someone had installed a redirect script in index.php file of my blog, and I lost lot of $$$$$$$ within 3 days...

If everything is fine, then don't worry it happens naturally - they'll get indexed again... However, if you're selling any text links, you should be WARY!
