Hi. I am still in the stage of development. I have no backlinks, no content, and definitely no popularity. I have never advertised and so far, never added my URL, and no one has even came to my site based on server side logs. Out of boredom I Googled my site's name, and I saw it rank first with my domain. This sounds quite absurd though, and the Googlebot as well as Yahoo keeps visiting my site as seen on server side logs. With wayback machine the domain had never had anything at all. Why is this so?
The domain age of your site has to be consideration at this point. If the domain had been existing on the websphere for quite some time, then there is a good chance that Google or Yahoo bots to crawl your site. This is nothing strange. It happens because the search engines are supposedly smarter and index most of the sites to fill their database by indexing.
There may be an old link out there somewhere. You can search Yahoo for incoming links. Google is good at finding sites though.
Also think that the IP your website is on might have been known to google from other websites. It is happening to me as well.
If you are using a shared webhosting server and just started this website, a more popular website was probably in that IP address at one point. Lucky you!
WHO IN THE WORLD HAS TOLD YOU THAT SEARCH ENGINES ONLY INDEX WEBSITES WHEN YOU DO SEO/LINKBUILDING? Sir, the crawlers crawl and index pages all the time so nothing special about it. And getting ranked for your domain name is also not a big deal. If there ain't any competition then its very easy. Imagine getting ranked for your personal name! Cheers
Because your name appears on other sites whether you want it to or not. Its a very common practice for companies to watch and publish newly registered domains. If a site is public it will eventually draw the attention of a crawl bot.
depending on where your site is hosted, your host may have option of submitting the index page to major search engines which will explain the inxeding
The SEs will index any site no matter what. All that is needed is a link from an Indexed site to yours to do it.
