Thanks for the link, I'll take a look.

The problem with backlinks is that it's so hard to get PR 4-5-6 sites to link back to yours! I sent about 25 e-mails in the past week and only got 1 reply :(.

It means that there is a widget code in your blogger template that is blocking the google bot from indexing your site. You should switch to a blogger "classic" template, where you have more control over your code. There is a button somewhere on the template interface that says "switch to classic" or something like that. You'll lose all your edits, and will have to tweak the template again, but it's better than having that meta tag on your page.

Why did I get indexed by Yahoo then? This is actually a custom 3 column template. Would deleting the certain line work? I'm not that keen on losing my widgets.

For the noindex meta, google will ignore the page, but Yahoo and MSN will show a cache'd link without a description.

Less control over your site is one of the disadvantages of free hosting. Having a domain of your own (but not hosted on a free server) is much better from SEO point of view.

Actually, your blog is indexed by Google, I just checked it.

It looks more that you got a visitor from Google.

It depends on the statistics package you use but at least in my case when Googlebot visits my site, I see the following:

    Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Googlebot/2.1; +http://www.google.com/bot.html)

and when I get a visitor from Google, it reads:

    Referer: http://www.google.com/search?hl=........ and so on.

I have another question now, sorry for bumping this old topic but better than starting a new one I figured.

It's also related to my blog. When I search on google for

    link:http://celebritat.blogspot.com

no results return but when I search for:

    link: celebritat.blogspot.com

most of my backlinks show up. How does this affect my keyword ranking? Does Google see my blog as 2 different ones or what seems to be the problem here? I would have expected that all links show when I query: link:http://celebritat.blogspot.com

    Thanks if you can help

Also, why wouldn't anyone link back to my site? I sent about 30 personalized link requests to other websites but only got 1 reply :(. What's wrong ?
