What do you guys think about this? http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/google_developing_real_time_index.php HTML:
This would be awesome! Some webmaster wait days, weeks and even over a month to get their new content updated. This would make Google even fresher.
I can tell you for my main website (popular) my posts are literally indexed and cached with in seconds. This happens for every post about 5 per day, just started last week.
I think many of you noticed that google also indexes tweets in real time. Thus a tweet with your website and a good keyword could mean faster indexing.
i think they are testing it on blogger.. coz' i noticed a very big difference of time indexing when ever i publish a new post..
It's a change of concept. Instead of relying on bots and crawlers they will rely on publishers (or both ?).
That's seems to be a very good news. But this means that Google will overwork so they can make it real time...
I've notice that too, I couldn't believe that I saw my post in the top second page just minutes after posting it, then later move up to the first page result the next day. My guess it's ping related, it answered to the calling.
I also suspect this will bring harsher filters on sites that are MFA or are very thin with no authority trying to index new content(suspect just home page indexing)
MFA is Google's bread and butter I don't think much will be affected. Not just index but post contents as well.
it would be helpful fro blogs, but not sure if that would add value for normal sites sicne they update much more slower.
