Google Inc. decided to take action to get google.hu: http://totheweb.blogspot.com/2006/07/how-much-does-domain-like-googlehu.html Have you heard about similar google domain squats (apart from google.cz, google.by)? Why do you think it took Google so many years to act?
this is huge numbers!!! wel, hungary as many countries have own rules and google couldn't touch them or maybe google was smarter and let them develop these 38k visitor flow that will be now theirs!
I have not heard about a similar situation, but well Google might just be involved in talks with the site owner and the site owner could have had been asking for a lot or maybe would not be willing to sell, there could have just been some official meetings, hence these factors could just have influenced the time Google took to react IT
I think that this 38k visitor flow has been generated by the "Google brand" only. The remaining approx. 20k visitor flow is generated by the squatters' search service during the last three years... Anyway I found the following Google squats: google.cz - Czech site with a search portal with an awful design google.by - Belorussian site with exactly the same look as Google.ru except some added advertisements on the home page google.vc - a fan site with news, registered under the TLD of St. Vincent and The Grenadines
