Google is becoming a monopolist, and it isn't full of promises for the Internet future. Many people nowadays talks about the danger of Google's monopoly for the advanced internet technologies, especially SE technologies development. AltSearchEngines.com becomes a directory for newly created small search engines, that are being developed all around the world. But there are also companies that keep another course trying to develop new technologies and standards for search technologies, instead of creation of SEs with current approaches. This course seems to be more effective. E.g. Semantic web concepts defined by W3C, ICDL standard developed by OMFICA, etc.
