Google seems to be in a Desperate Attempt to Monetize YouTube. After spending quite a bit of money to buy youtube, now they are launching an API to allow users access to YouTube library. Earlier they have started selling ads on youtube videos. Its gonna be interesting to watch what else they do.

Yes exactly! I wonder how much companies like ABC or FOX pay for their videos to be on the front page. Also think about all those music companies with ads on their music videos. Sheeesh

Google invested money in youtube, and I guess that's the best internet investment ever made, for 1,6 billion they got the website that will always remain mother and father of all the video websites. 1,6 is nothing for this kind of website, microsoft valued FaceBook of 16 billion, i guess youtube is way better, considering websites like facebook come and go (i mean like hey, we had classmates, myspace, orkut now facebook, whats next? ) and youtube is still youtube.

It's only normal for them to monetize Youtube, definitely not desperate.
Most of us monetize our sites so why shouldn't Google? :)

Myspace is slowly dieing there is so much crap on it now, full of spam, hackers, ugly templates. Facebook is on the raise its clean and most importantly private.

Bit of useless knowledge is that youtube, facebook get more hits than google search engine does by a long way.

Whether Google desperate or not, webmasters are desperate to monetize their blogs/site with YouTube.

A Brazilian company has "used" YouTube together with Amazon, eBay & Shopping.com to serve product ads effectively.

Myspace will forever own the "tween" market. What we're seeing is the old myspace generation go to Facebook, while middle school kids are eating myspace up.
