Google images

I have just redesigned my website under a different domain name. Because my old website ranks so highly on Google, I haven't discarded the old domain name, I have just redirected each page to its corresponding one on the new website. A couple of the pages contain nothing but thumbnails and people find them by using Google image. For an example, type in animal cloning into Google image and you should see a Tiger cloned with a polar bear, this is my old domain name. I have taken all the images off the old page and have just put the words you are now being redirected on the page. What I am worried about is when Google update, nobody would be able to find the page because the thumbnails are no longer there. Does it work like this, or will people still be able to find the page or should I put the thumbnails back on exactly as they were?

Your post is pretty confusing. Why would you want to discontinue a popular domain name, especially if you are worried about losing the results that you had gained with it?

yea, at the first place, why would you like to change the domain name? Most likely you have to do 301 redirect for all those affected images.
