Google Images Index

    I understand that Google's image bot is an infrequent visitor.

    When can a new site expect its first visit from the "Googlebot-Image"?

    and when can a new site expect its images to show up in the images index?

    (assuming the site has decent amount of incoming links: >1000).

    I have found a 4-month old site with many images indexed by Google.

    Does anyone have an experience of getting indexed faster?

    If you submit your images to digg like site you will get indexed fast.

    Sometimes it's about inserting the right keyword into the alt tag for the images. That will help.
