Hey! I have a new free photoshop tutorials site. Google indexed the pages but I want to index the images also.. Here's the robots.txt file: User-agent: * Disallow: /cgi-bin Disallow: /wp-admin Disallow: /wp-includes Disallow: /wp-content/plugins Disallow: /wp-content/cache Disallow: /wp-content/themes Disallow: /category Disallow: /author Disallow: /trackback Disallow: /*trackback Disallow: /*trackback* Disallow: /*/trackback Disallow: /*?* Disallow: /*.html/$ Disallow: /*feed* User-agent: Googlebot-Image Disallow: /wp-content/themes Sitemap: http://www.tutorialshot.com/sitemap.xml Code (markup): Is there something wrong in here that cause this problem? thanks, Dvir.
Your Robots is fine, you are only blocking Image bot from your templates. Have a read of this, Optimizing for Google Images It will tell you everything you need to know about ranking for Google Images, i stuck a video in there the other day by Matt Cutts conforming what i wrote months ago.
what do you mean by saying "you are only blocking Image bot from your templates" ? can you be more sprecific..?
OK... The first line instructs the Google Image Bot, and the second line says don't index anything in your /themes folder which contains the images associated with your theme like header, navigation buttons, table dividers etc. Specific enough?
