    Hello,

I would like to add images relevant to my articles and was wondering if it is permissible to use the images one finds when doing a google search for the keyword in question under Google Images.

    Thanks :)

Excuse the irrelevant answers above. Some people rush to post to get their sig links.

InsightReiki, no it is not permissible to use the images one finds using Google image search. Each of those images are copyright of the websites they are from. If someone finds out you are using their copyrighted images, they can force you to remove those images. Excessive image theft could even lead to lawsuits.

To get images that you are allowed to use for free, you need to find websites that specialize in free clip art or free stock photography.

So, anyone can use the images found on Google Images as long as they include the information found below each image. Do I need to create an image link to the originator of the image or to the page on Google Images where I found it?

Thank you very much for your help :)

Oh, okay. I do not want to do anything that is not allowed.

Perhaps I might email the owners of the images and inquire whether I might add them to my articles.

    Many Thanks :)

Yes you definitely should e-mail the website owners to see if you can use those images.

You can use image from Google image search only if the image does not have copyright. Moreover, it is not all the image in Google image search that have copyright, you can find some without copyright. If you want to use an image with copyright you have to contact the own of the image to give you right to use the image.

The best answer is probably not, especially without first asking permission. If you are looking for good free images to use, I recommend www.sxc.hu. :)

You can find images that have the creative licence that allows you to use it on your site. The important thing is the alt and title you use on your image.

The Alt and title attributes and tags of the images as well as their names can all help Google finding the images themes and ideas once you use the image search engine. That is also useful and helpful when you would like your images be found as well.

Most of the images are under copyrights, so you need to get permission from their owners. Otherwise you can look for stock photos.

You should use ALT and TITLE Tags in all of your main Images and consider linking to those images and also use the Title Tag within the Text Link and your Images will start to rank and show up high in the SERP's ;)
