    Hi!

I would like to have some input on my Google Image Search (!) SEO strategy on two of my Wordpress Blogs Money Online (most important) and Vector Vu.

To be more specific, I want to improve the Google Image Search the rankings on the images available at the internal page "Free Web Badges & Vector Icons" on the exact phrase web badges.

Other (secondary, step 2.) phrases I am targeting is "Free Web Badges", "Vector Icons" and "Vectors".

Due to the high competition I have choosed to prioritize "Web Badges" that is having less competiting listing. [Web Badges] is according to my keyword analysis not having a large search volume, but it is attracting more relevant traffic and as mentioned - within reach!

I am NOT trying to increase rankings this in standard Google Organic Search. I do not have sufficient time and resources available to compete against the large amount of competitors in traditional SERPs. Therefore, consider this a question regarding Google Image Search Only!

All images are linked directly to external websites. The image title and alt descriptions and also link titles have relevant keywords and phrases in them.

Will using relevant link titles on images when linking to others like this work against me or is this positive from a SEO point of view? Should I remove the links on the images and use the text only links to prevent a potential loss of PR or other? Should I link to the image filenames like web-badges.jpg instead or do you have any other recommendations regarding this?

Can you help? Got some good SEO tips?
At the moment the website is not search engine optimized. I am aware of this. The content strategy, link strategy, keyword analysis and more will have a makeover (in progress) and will be migrated (offline, local dev server) as soon as I have the Google Image Search SEO under control.

What I need to know is how I can improve the rankings both onsite and offsite.
Do I need to start link building to the images directly (web-badges.png, web-badges.jpg, etc) or build links to the website URL that they are found?

Today I get a LOT of traffic to my blog from Google Image Search. What I have done is collecting a lot of Free Icons and have published them on my website. All icons are uploaded to my own domain with filenames like Googlefree-icons.jpg, free-icons-png and free-icons-set.jpg.

All images are surrounded by relevant text targeting those phrases, including image alt tags. I am able to insert img alt tags, link titles on outgoing text- and image links in Wordpress.

    Thanks in advance!
