I would definitely use the "alt" tag for your image. Make sure the keywords you want to use are in the alt tag.

You must think Google doesn't update his database every day, can last about 2 or more months. Also content, alt and picture name are almost the only you can do.

Alt tags, naming the image with keywords... those are the two main things. But, I wouldn't want my images showing up is search engine results.. you're just asking for a hotlink and stolen pics.

Yeah, mdvaldosta, but some websites make lots of visits from Google Images.

Use ALT tag to define what the image is or about. Make sure you use " - " as seperator, just as you would use for a naming interior pages.

    Ex. 2000-ford-expedition.jpg

hotlinking is a worry but you have to balance the two up, i had an image placed Nº2 for the search term "funny" in google images and it sent me 6k visits a day :)

Yeah, I agree with that. When I search on Google, and type in EXAMPLE, something EXAMPLE-pic.jpg comes up. i guess the hypones might help, not sure.

I use good file names eg keyword-keyword2.jpg and good alt tags.

Also I think the page titles and other content can influence whether the images get listed. An image with similar alt tags and filename to the surrounding content will be listed higher.

No mdvaldosta, I am not asking this for stolen pictures. 90% of all the pictures displayed in my www.keralaclick.com is captured by me. So.. :)

No that wasn't what I was referring, I was saying that many people search for images in and steal them. Having your images rank well will get your bandwidth tore up and images stole. I didn't know you could expect that kindo of traffic from a photo though.. 6k a day... damn.
