    Do you mean that out of the few hundred Google data centres there's only one that crawls images and only a few times per year??!!

    It has 100 images, each on a seperate page.

    Yes, I think that's correct. The google-bot visits my site 5000 times per day, but the google-imagebot only comes every few months.
