www.googleidol.com Check out the site, watch the vids and give me your professional opinion on layout, accessibility and content. I'd really appreciate some professional criticism.
sorry to say but dont like the site at allllllll !! and why are you using 'Google' in the domain name ??
Hmmm, could you be more specific?? That didn't really help at all! And the domain name is simply because I'm specifically using videos from Google Video. They've approved, so there's no problem there. What don't you like about it?
That google will send you a nice email as they sent me. Saying in essence, you can not use adsense on a site who url name contains a google trademarked word. Then the adsense is disabled.
surely a interesting concept. But ya, using google's name can lead into trouble. If possible remove the left hand vertical menu and bring it's stuff at the top and make the content(videos) spread throughout the width. And try to get a better alternative for ads than adsense. First of all,the payout will be really low(5 cent per click) and you are not even sure that google is gonna allow adsense on this domain
the design ain't bad, it looks....well designed googleidol.com isn't a good choice of domain name imo though.
Ha, what were you expecting? Professional criticism? This is America, it's a given that 70% of the people on this forum are going to flame you, no matter what the site is about, no matter how you state it. I personally think it's got a great design, although I wasn't too enthused when watching the videos. But that's just my personal opinion. Number one rule of Adsense: or wait, ANYTHING THAT IS VALUEABLE TO YOU: Don't tell anyone about it. They'll ruin it for you. You see, about 6 posts down you've already got a guy acting as if he's the Internet Police telling you that you're violating googles tos. These forums are a great place to share ideas, information, but I'd leave it at that, dont share your sites, especially if they have adsense on them, you dont want to accidentally *piss* someone off in the future and have them retaliate, getting your adsense banned. Anyway, good work.
I think it looked good, very lively with a young feel. Paul1957, people from all around the world use these forums, not just America. Everyvote, I would be very interested to know how you got permission, what address did you email? If they were just vague on permission be cautious, because there have been other threads such as a guy who used the name ebay, they never told him not to when he emailed, then later told him to stop.
Thanks for your comments everybody. For the record, Google contacted me - I didn't contact them. They've also linked the site on the official Google Video Blog (http://googlevideo.blogspot.com) so as far as I can see, they like it! Besides, what's in a domain name? Try www.mygidol.com. Does that change things?
I seen your site on the 9 o'clock news here in Chicago. Good work! Although the domain seems a little trademarkish.
