Hi all I use this as well as others to check my main keywords for SERPS http://www.4neurons.com/other/SERPs Finder/ Now i have searched a few today where before i was on pages 60, 70 80 etc. Anyway searched today and i was in the top 10 for a few and even on page 2 for one of my main ones, i was so happy. Anyway come away from the page that it shows you through that software above which is only the normal Google page with my keywords inserted in the search box, go into Google that i use and did a search for the same keywords and they are not even showing anywhere ???
Mate 1st I want to say that you have a great sense of Amusing... 2ndly just want to add that this is not the only exception there are many others biggies like http://www.googlerankings.com/ who even after inserting google API Key doesn't show correct results ( Yahoo results are exception ) but overall its not that accurate..I think its always good to do it manual.
I find that www.geoseo.com is the best tool to use, it pulls data from multiple data centers in different geo-regions to show you close to accurate results. The reason you see different results is before of the data centers it is pulling data from.
Thanks But i still don't get it, the link i posted does the search, as soon as it finds it opens a new window with Google and the keywords typed in the box and shows your site. If i type in the box the keyword again and search it again shows it and it actually searches as it would normally. Then when i come out of that window which is the same as my normal Google page and search it as normal it is gone. I understand your point about them not being accurate but the one i posted a link to not only gives you the number but it SHOWS you in Google, but when you come out and do a normal search it's gone
Again, it's a data center issue. There are over 40+ data centers now I believe, and they can all provide different results.
Hey thanks for that. Does the location of my host effect it in anyway, i think my host is in America and i am in the UK ? Its a bit daft also having different SERPS on different data centres, do they all eventually catch up ? Could i have just jumped and it is not caught up on my data centre ? It is funny because i was really at the high end but it has jumped a lot forward so really really hoping that it will catch up on the centre i am using ???????? Is this possible or am i talking dribble
You can view different results doing all sorts of different things.... 1. Logging in or out of your Google Account. 2. Loading\Unloading Google Toolbar 3. Search directy from a IP URL from the data center The reason is the data centers aren't always in sync, it's impossible to have them be. They provide results also to different regions, which results would in fact differ.
So Is the location of my website going to be a problem, hosted in USA i and my market are in the UK ? How do i and should i only optimise for UK ?
