My website is displayed properly in all major browsers, I don't get any html suggestions in GWT, but w3c validator shows some minor errors. Should I be bothered by them? Will it hurt my SERP or anything?

No dont bother for now, just make sure u do a crawl check with some spider tools and that the site is displayed properly in full..

It should not be a problem. If you used Google webmaster tools you would at least know if Google had any problems with your site. There is also a free FF plugin called YSlow that can point out site issues.

it doesn't matter.. google can still crawled, indexed and rank your site, even if you don't use any validator..

I have no interest them both for now. If I have to choose the only one, W3C is the way to go for me. I would like to stick with global standard and not just a single company standard, even it is a Google inc. :p

Incorrect. Content can be dropped by the Googlebot if it ends up unsure as to where it is going next due to invalid code and endless tables. It matters a great deal to have valid code.

    Totally agree!

Validating your code with the W3C Validator is also a good way to pick up tips about good coding practice. When you start to learn from these tips you will find it much easier to develop valid web sites from the start.
