Google Higher Rank = Lesser Sales??

I was wondering why my sales drop after I achieved higher position in page 1 of Google. I enjoyed more sales when my site was positioned at bottom rank of 1st page of Google. I received more visitors and more adsense income when my site ranked high (Google seem to be putting expensive ads on high rank sites, my avg PPC was increased). However the higher PPC cannot cover my dropped in sales..

I think you need to research on keywords and optimize it for better search results.

How long has this trend gone on for? Perhaps there is a sales lag. I have a friend who has a website and he has studied his site and found that visitors don't buy for an average of 3 weeks. He has great content and they keep coming back and back until they finally buy.
