Hi Folks, I have been thinking about the Google heatmap for some time. It has seemed a little "shy" of data, and confusing. So, today I extended the official single-screen, non-scrolling Google version, to a more detailed, multi-screen version - http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/internet/google-heatmap-2.htm What do you folks think? Thanks for your time.
Wow. Not a single comment after a week? This really surprises me. I thought that at least someone might want to tell me how far off the mark I am. Anyway, I thought that I would bump it just once. I have postulated a THIRD hot spot page, corresponding to a "middle screen", in addition to fixing a couple of errors on the "last screen". I also added numbers to the colored areas, to aid in discussion. Thoughts, anybody? If multiple people suggest that, from their experience, a certain color should be different, I will change it. I am more interested in actual experiences, rather than theory. You can vote right here.
Surf Dude, I think you're about right with that assumption, although I generally have never experimented with the three-screen / two-folds page and the effects of ad placement. The first three pictures I can quite agree to. Good effort.
That's pretty interesting. I agree with you about the grey areas of the heat maps. And yes, depending on your site's layout, regular "hot" areas won't be so hot, and vice versa. Lots of good points to ponder with your illustrations. It would be cool to discuss it further on here to see what others have to say and what people's different takes on it are.
Thanks, guys. Yeah, that's what I am hoping for - more input. I think that everyone can learn something from listening to the experiences of others - what was good, what was bad, etc. I just want to try and summarize the inputs of others, and see what we can learn.
