Good news: We've managed to get our site up to #2 position for our primary targeted keyword.

Bad News: Our site description is from several months ago - our Site title is correct and on topic, but when a searches reads the description, it's for a totally different subject. Any way to get google to update the description?

Yeah, but our sites last cache was June 14th - 2 days ago. This description isn't found anywhere on the site, in any page. It's crazy I tell you!

Does your site have a listing at DMOZ? If so, take a look at the dmoz description.

As a matter of fact it does, and it looks like that's where Google is pulling our description from! Ouch - I asked DMOZ to update our listing a couple months ago, nothing happened. Those DMOZ guys............

Yea, good luck trying to get DMOZ to update. The same thing happened to me with one of my sites. It took me a while to realize DMOZ was to blame.

I wish Google didn't place so much emphasis on it, as it seems nearly impossible to get listed, or have anything changed.

I'm reluctant to ask about having our listing changed again - last time I did that for a site, they completely removed it rather than changing it.
