Just a Heads up for those who dont know. I am sure there are plenty who know this info. But anyways............

This is valid information............. Google has implemented a new feature which enables you to type a telephone number into the search bar and hit enter and you will be given the person's name and address. If you then hit Map at the end of your address, you will get a map to the person's house. Everyone should be aware of this!

It's a nationwide reverse telephone book. If a child gives out his/her phone number, someone can now look it up to find out where he/she lives. The safety issues are obvious, and alarming. Note that you can have your phone number removed or blocked. I tried my number and it came up along with the mapquest and directions straight to my house.

I did fill out the removal for myself, and encourage all of you to do the same. Quite scary. Please look up your number. In order to test whether your phone number is mapped, go to :

    Google www.google.com.

Type your phone number in the search bar (IE 555-555-5555/your phone #) and hit enter. If you want to BLOCK Google from divulging your private information, simply click on your telephone number and then click on the removal form. Removal takes 48-hours.

Check you own number and although this may not apply to you if you have unlisted number or cell phone as primary contact, you may know someone who needs to know this.

I've tried it and it works– REMOVE YOUR PHONE. I Did

This is a great advancement in technology however, this can be a dangerous weapon if it's used by the wrong person. But it's great that google gives us the ability to remove our telephone number from their database.

Wow, this is a really nice information
Many times I want to search for a phone number and who that number is, but many sites don't offer that service free.
I think it is for United States only.

Yes this Google feature is awesome but can be a hinderance. There are always a flipside to everything I guess. But I would only see this as a feature is for business purposes not for personal reason. You know for like locating a business and not for tracking a person down.

I think it is only for the US at the moment....I think but not sure until more people test it out.

Wow, I like your username, I think I just developed a fetish for pronunciations like that lol. I think it’s just for USA, might cause backlash in other nations.

That's not really any different than the the Anywho.com reverse directory lookup. It only works fo landline phone numbers - cell phone numbers aren't in the directory.

You can demand privacy, nobody holding confidential data on you without consent can refuse your demand, and your privacy is worth much, you should take it to the court, and the fees for that should be on the opposite, the person or company refuses to remove confidential information on you which they have no consent to, at all cause you shouldn’t have to pay for anything, so don’t worry. You are just trying to defend your privacy right. You’re automatically entitled to win in that statute, especially if you’re an American.
