they are excluding our site www.reducethepayments.com from adwords, because, according to them, it's a "bridge site" - their definition is: "A bridge page is a web page created for the main purpose of sending visitors to a different site. " this is mind boggling, because last time i checked, google was created with the sole purpose of linking to other sites! they also don't allow iframes ... who knew? what is so bad about iframes? keep in mind this is US PAYING THEM MONEY FOR ADVERTISING, this is not adsense where they pay us. i couldn't believe i was reading what they wrote me: ************************************ Like Shravan mentioned, your site 'www.reducethepayments.com' does not comply with our site policies. This is a slightly longish email but request you to read it till the end to understand what you can do to make your site compliant with our policies. >From my review of your site, it clearly has two purposes - Car Insurance and College Education. 1. The Car Insurance section has no unique content and it directly leads users to different sites like nationwide.com, geico.com etc. Please see screenshot attached. Per our policy, we don't allow ads that promote bridge pages. A bridge page is a web page created for the main purpose of sending visitors to a different site. To review our Bridge Page policy, please see: [adwords.google.com...] To make this section of your site compliant, please refine your content so that it contains a good amount of original content like tips for consumers, competitor pricing, reviews, ratings, customer feedback etc. For tips on how to improve your landing page please see: [adwords.google.com...] 2. The College Education section is framing another site 'forms.earnmydegree.com' and there is no unique content offered by you on your site. Please see attached screenshots of your content and the content on 'forms.earnmydegree.com.' We don't allow advertising for sites that frame another website by displaying their data using HTML framesets. In order to get your site approved, please ensure that your site isn't framing content from another domain. Learn more about our Framing policy at: [adwords.google.com...] I hope this clarifies any questions you have on our policies. Do write back once you've made the necessary changes to your site and I'll send it to the Specialists for re-review. I appreciate your efforts to comply with our policies. **************************************
Sorry to hear that. Your have to be very careful when dealing with Google. Hope you can get everything worked out soon. Good luck.
I like how you said that Google has gone insane w/ adwords policy - I think Google has gone insane period.
IMHO it is wise of Google not to allow a site with no original content to promote itself via AdWords.
unoriginal content? isn't GOOGLE itself a "bridge" site?? all it primarily does is links to other sites! what an oxymoron.
google wants advertisers to spend money, in order for them to do this they have to ensure the ads are placed in the best places. provide good quality original content, pay someone $15 to write a good article.
I think Google started going insane before this, with the panda updates. Sorry to hear this happened to you califmerchant.
To avoid this you have to provide original content on your site. A better way to do your site to satisfy Google would be to break it into two sites one for each subject and create niche blogs with unique and helpful content about both subjects. Not just links to other sites. Make your site a review site and consider adding a forum. Then it looks good to the Google gods. You make your sites the authority sites and Google will even send organic traffic your way. And of course you can utilize forums in your niche to bring in more traffic.
