Google has dropped my rank organically the last week

Hi everyone, I'm in a very niche market in webdesign and with the search term for our specialty we've always had number 1 or 2 placement organically on google the last 3-4 years.

The last few days my phone hasn't been ringing as much so I checked my placement and I've fallen to 5th on pg 1 and almost onto the second page, and now my competitors who were non existent before are above me, can anyone shed light on why this might be? I just need some help.

Never did any kind of SEO campaigning with anyone only worked on my meta keywords and descriptions and that was enough to get me high on the searches.

I'm not sure if I am allowed to post my website here for anyone to view my content.

    Please help.

Google makes changes to its algorithms all the time. Perhaps your site dropped in ranking due to one of google's recent updates?

Yes, but Hummingbird is supposed to be the biggest change to the algorithm in 15 years. It's not just a tweak. I think Google is leaning very heavily on content and much less on backlinks. Google is also withholding keyword information for traffic coming from Google search.

Google is changing their algo time to time. Google now place very less attention on links but mostly rely on social media. Its not wise to rely on Google. Try doing social media marketing. You will get good rank and traffic.

Yes, as @danasurvey said your ranking dropped due to google updates and with latest hummingbird update, google is updating SERP rankings.

Check your webmaster tools for any new messages from Google. If there is none, then try to improve the quality of the content and remove bad backlinks to your site by using disavow tool by Google.

I am always adding fresh content to my sites and add more text. That seems to work for me staying top ranked.

If you haven't received any warning probably your competitors are implementing SEO campaigns, try researching your competitors and their recent activity by using online tools, if they are, guess you might have to start taking up SEO classes.
    Hope this helps.

I think you already know the reasons why you lost rank.

You have never done SEO before which is okay since you have been on the top page for your keywords.

It's time to spend some of those money you have earned on only top notch SEO services.

I recommend a private network of SEO though this can take months but you will be untouchable..

i think that is simply your competitor implement seo campaign in order to outrank you.. you need to revise your on page seo and also off page seo.. AND also revise your competitor seo background as well

It's going to take a good while to have a clear (muddy, more like it) idea of what has changed. Here's an interesting survey for 2013 that you may want to check out. http://moz.com/search-ranking-factors

Google latest update hummingbird really effects almost 90% search results. This updates focus more on long tail keywords rather then LSI methodology of Google that was earlier used.
