I am definitely missing something here. http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=www.newcomputer.ca&meta= I see no green bar. EDITED: Disregard, I am a moron. Looks like my PR dropped? Hmmmmm, something funny there. I bet QLL was involved.
lol - like Bob said - look for the green. It does not give you an exact number, you are going to have to do a little guessing if you went up or down.
Sorry to hear that. I have heard all three scenerios - increase, decrease, and no change. Anyone else see a change?
What about tools like this one: http://www.seochat.com/seo-tools/pagerank-search/ - you think it also shows outdated PR?
It's an interesting thought. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's correct. The toolbar is after all ancillary to true SERPS metrics. PS: I don't doubt that the toolbar will be updated. In fact, it would be nice to see it happen within, say, 4 days.
Yes, there's definitely been a change in PR in the Directory for a few of our sites too. Noticed the change a few days ago.
everyone: ok I did a boo boo here sorry. I got excited over nothing. Those new PR10 are not new. I didn't do this on purpose. s0rRy! On the other hand I am going through a phase in my life. I need green man, I mean Google give us a update will you.
I know .... The wait's driving me nuts ..... I've never waited so much for anything ... Even my dates show up by now!
I've been waiting for a PR7 on two of my new sites (which are PR0 until they finally get updated) so Link Exchanges arent exactly easy yet.. lol
i've lost many relevants ibl with the last update but i can't see a pr update righ now ... but the green bar of the google directory.. http://directory.google.it/Top/Regional/Europe/Italy/Business_and_Economy/Home_and_Garden/Furniture/
italian-faga: Google doesn't report IBL correctly. Try looking at your IBL with Yahoo using "linkdomain:www.example.com"
Someone want to tell me how you check the Google Directory when its search function is flat broken? (I can sit on the page listing a site and watch the search tell me it can't find that listing.) I really do have better things to do with my life than spend it memorizing the idiot micro-sub-categories the Mighty Minds at dmoz stick--apparently at whim--sites into. If that was my idea of fun, I'd memorize the Yellow-Page categories.
My guess is the tool itself only duplicates the PR that the G Toolbar would show, not the PR in the G directory. Our site has yet to be listed in DMOZ, which means I cannot confirm this. Just a hunch...
yes all the sites i have seen on there usually tally with the toolbar PR - it probably uses the code that came out that directly taps into the toolbar. one thing about using that tool though - great as it is - i have noticed that quite often the PR and the Backlinks function (shown along with each result) is often "out of phase" ie the PR /Backlink function shown for a particular result is sometimes the PR/Backlinks that belongs to the result directly above or below. (an easy way to check is to hover the mouse over the backlink link and see what address comes up in the status bar- and also check the toolbar pr when you visit the site. it has been a few weeks since i used this tool - so they may have fixed that problem now.
Hello tivnet. >What about tools like this one: http://www.seochat.com/seo-tools/pagerank-search/ >you think it also shows outdated PR? It shows the toolbar PR. [edit: Some forum threads have been talking about google changing their toolbar checksum and the online PR tools having to change their code to keep working.]
I just saw a page on consult on drop in pagerank on google toolbar. DigitalPoint does not show a drop so am hoping is an anomaly. Shannon
