Not true...even after full interviews an employer can still legally reject you. Doesnt matter if your crazy or sick or gay. There is no law that states an employer has to hire you just because you completed all the interviews. The whole point of interviews is to see if you are eligible for the job. You could pass the interview and even get an offer, but unless you dont sign a job agreement, there is no law that would make an employer hire you.

So what is the law agaist discrimination means? What does the words Equal Opporunity Employer means?
    Read the legal stuff first:
    http://www.stage6.com/user/traaa/images/
    and then ask me questions.
Anyway, Google's own lawyer, Shira Shribe from Israel, admited that they rejected me because of my personal information (search history and gmails). I searched for suicidal content, so you can do the math.
Anyway, this is onld news in Israel, so you can take my word for it.

Actually is this is true is does really seem like a big problem for Google, at least in most European countries.

Have any of you ever heard of PRIVACY Laws ?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Privacy_law

I know you might not have strict laws in US, but in must European countries, there is something called Personal Data Privacy laws
Preventing sites / firms / whatever to collect and store persons data / information against or without their knowledge.
It must be written what the data is used if any data is collected.

European Privacy laws, MUCH stricter than US privacy laws.

    http://www.nytimes.com/library/tech/98/10/cyber/cyberlaw/09law.html
    http://www.dataprotection.eu/pmwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Main.Privacy
    http://www.europarl.europa.eu/news/...IPR19236-22-01-2008-2008-false/default_en.htm

Where I live, it had already been a big thing in the news that google collects personal information about its users.
And that it's clearly against the privacy laws if this information is stored for later use.

There has even been talk about the IP's should be treated as personal information by European Union ..
    EU Official: IP Is Personal

The fact that Google examines your personal information as a part of the interview process is not considered invading your privacy. And there is nothing evil about it. I, for example, searched suicidal content. If they hired me, they would have been criminals. The probelm is indeed with the fact that they collect so much data about you.
They know much more about you than the goverments.

Gathering browsing history data is (at least in EU) allowed IF you agree/sign to give them permission to do that. What confuses me is your statement, gathering data is legal admitting is illegal, to me it doesn't make sense. It would make sense that its illegal if they share with a third party your browsing history, but admitting that they store your browsing history (if you have signed) is nothing out of ordinary for me.

Aside all that, I still haven't figured out what in the heck is going on with this thread.

Google admited that it looks at the personal information (i.e. search history and gmails) of the candidates before they hire them, to make sure that they are in good mental health. My personal information suspects me as being suicidal, so it was forbidden for them to hire me.

Sorry i dont really understand the point of your thread

are you saying that google looked at your search history and from that they are saying they wont hire you - so what when you go to apply for uni they usually search the internet to find out what kind of person you are they look at your facebook/myspace, and im sure if you search any of our "internet allias" (mine being st_jimi) you'll find data and a footprint on us - so what they have the right to as its public info

or are you saying that google are in the wrong because they hired you because you have a mental illness? well surley thats your fault, you cant go to a job interview knowing you have a mental illness and knowing its illegal to hire people with mental illnesses

Also i think the real reason google stocks are falling are possible to do with the m$/yahoo bid and the usa economy not some f'ed up individual

and the biggest scandal in history is probley that french dude who was recently found out to have gambled millions/billions of a banks money on the stock market, not google not hiring some nut job

It is quite obviously clear you sit in your room at home with tin foil on your head to protect you from "googles satalites that are watching you" jaffing off over the google owners and crying cos the wont respond to your love letters, so you have decided to make a hate campaign creating stupid nazi/gay google images and spam posts in forums then basing it on your homosexuality and very troubled mind (which google and the rest of the world doesn't care about)

have you ever thought they didnt hire you cos you weren't qualified enough or weren't good enough as other candidates, or maybe they thought (like the rest of us) your nuts

or simply they didnt like you

go away and cover your house in tin foil because google world satalites are watching you its all a big cover up to document your every move honestly

I passed the two interviews for students successfully, but I searched for suicidal content (i.e. the words 'suicide methods' apears in my search history), so it was forbidden for Google to hire me. Very simple. The search history contains everything that you've searched in Google at the last 18 months.

I think this thread is suicidal to read.

To the OP. This is a storm in your own teacup. Get over the rejection and stop whinging and banging on about this. All you are doing is making yourself look more of an idiot for each post you keep banging on about it.

Solution: Get over it and move on. Try getting a job at DMOZ (I hear they are looking for nut case editors...LOOOL)

I'm not wining, I'm just saying that since there is a written proof to something that was supposed to be a secret, Google's interview process has become illegal, so it is forbidden for them to hire new peoples. Ask any lawyer and he'll explaion that to you.

Well traaa your mental illness shows through these threads and as an employer, if I saw that you were suicidal in any way, I would have to protect the other employees by not hiring you. Lately those who are suicidal seem to be taking out co-workers as well.

Also if you are angry, suicidal and say all Israelis are stupid, I think there are some obvious red flags considering what happens so often in Israel.

Oh, man, this is the greatest non-news thread ever in history...the greatest non scandal ever.

No company has to hire you EVER for ANY REASON regardless of passing interviews...hell, you can "pass" all your interviews (whatever the hell "passing" means) there is no saying three other people didn't "pass" for the same position...then they choose which one they want to hire.

The search data is GOOGLE'S data that you gave to them voluntarily by using THEIR search engine...the fact your search history makes you look nuts isn't their problem.

For the record, this thread alone makes you look pretty delusional, a mild form of narcissism perhaps given your view of self-entitlement to think Google owe's you a job because you passed a few interviews...

Admitting a secret isn't illegal...tell ya one myself, my drivers license says I weight 215...I really weigh 230

Crap, there I go, off to jail...

Man, this was an awesomely humorous read.

    What?!?! hahahahahaha
