Hi everyone - I am new to the site, so this is my first post. I have been struggling with an issue with Google. My site was listed on Google with no problem, but the synopsis text was terrible. I did things like have text in iFrames, etc that I now know better not to do. The big thing I have is a flash detection page which redirects you via flash or meta based on if a test flash program loads correctly. I think this was stopping the googlebot from spidering the site, so I added some keywords in white on white background and added a link on the "no flash" page back to the main page. Since then, I was dropped by google. I wondered if they thought it was spam for the white on white thing, so I removed that. Have not been picked up since. I do have a mirror domain that points at my main site and Google has that in the index, but somehow the main site is not there. Any ideas?
It's possible that Google recognized your mirror as duplicate content, and therefore dropped one of the sites. You should prevent it from accessing any duplicate content by adding the appropriate statements to a robots.txt file. Example (add these lines to robots.txt in root directory to block entire site): User-agent: * Disallow: / Hope this helps, Alex www.contract-web-development.com
