Well, http://www.google.com/tisp this has to be an April fools joke and its from Google, so... We all ready know Google fool around a bit. http://www.google.com/googlegulp < ----- Any one remember this? From last year. Matt Cutts works for Google, so he may be in on the act as well. Also did you know the next Google pagerank update is going to be decided by pigeons? http://www.google.com/technology/pigeonrank.html
In relation to this hot thread. Do you think that Matt Cutt's blog got hacked or is it an April Fool's joke. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=284783

Dugg. Damn I should have thought to blog about it. Nice thinking. Edit: Actually I see you just linked to it. Maybe I will blog about it.
Take a look at the people who hacked it there site is : http://www.darkseoteam.com or the translated version: http://translate.google.com/transla...&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&hs=oz0&pwst=1 Read the third post down it says:
I am not sure what to say that it is hacked or not.... but an interesting read for all of u... http://www.darkseoteam.com/index.php/2005/10/06/23-open-letter-to-matt-cutts
Yep, it now definately looks like it was a marketing plan now afterall. Matt Cutts wanted his site to get more backlinks so that it becomes more popuplar as it is a resource that helps webmasters keep on the right side of doing SEO right. So the more backlinks and traffic the better. So making the site looked as if it has been hacked would bring alot of talk and backlinks which would start pointing to his blog all over the web. But making his site hacked would be awrful, so the best day to pull it of would be april fools as he can then use that as an excuse to pretend that it's a real april fools joke when infact it was really a way to get extra media coverage for his blog. A very good way to get media interest I must say, but pretending the site is hacked is not the route I would have gone for. Also, I wouldn't think that Matt Cutts would say he would be away on Monday to people, he just said that so it looks like he has not seen it. Now if you were going on holiday would you tell people who you don't know that you were going away, no you wouldn't as your house as a higher risk of being broken into, well this is the same with a site being hacked I guess. I now also believe that it's an April Fool's.
I suppose it has got him alot of new back links, how funny would it be if Google cashes his site now and his new page title is *Hacked* or whatever, that would be funny all though im sure it wouldn't be too hard for him to change it. The annoying thing is, i want to read some of his articles today
It's a bit of an insider joke. What threw me is, it's not in Google's usual playful style: pigeon rank, toilet broadband, and so on. But if you look closely, some of those names do seem to be quite familiar.
