There's been much speculation about whether or not Goolge is dancing lately. There's no doubt that it is. There's always speculation, rumor, theory and prediction about PR updates. So what's the big shake up right now? Well, I may have accidently found one of the causes for the massive shifts as of late. Again, by accident, as I was researching some results with a friend who does PSEM for a few select clients, we came across the following: When doing some KEI, SERP, etc. research for "louisville laser" we were a bit puzzled at the results You'll see that half-way down the page, there is a break in the results. Upon further inspection, these are sites that have a Google Local listing. It apprears that Google might be intergrating the Google Local search results in with their regular search engine. It was recently announced that Google Local was no longer beta - it seems that the removal from beta might be an inclusion into Google web search. Has anyone else seen any examples of this?
Thats interesting reading and makes sense, integration would create random results at the best of times.
Yes, i've seen those too. But I think that what is happening is that google stopped using its filters on some datacenters. At least that is what I see from using mcdar's tool. Most datacenters show my sites as usual, but about 5 of them show my sites out of the sandbox.
I just did a Google Search for Ireland Nicknames and got a similar result as I did for "louisville laser" showing local directory links in the regualr Google web search ... hmm.
