I can assure you; the first fool to have an accident using google
glasses will sue google for millions....

I sure hope google is covering their ass with some type of
warning attached to the glasses (maybe sticker):

1: Do not wear glasses while driving...
(You know some fool will end up doing this)

2: Do not wear glasses while walking...
(This could lead to injury or death)

3: Google does not take responsibility of people
    that use this product/device....

    What do you guys think?

my thoughts are, if we were meant to be borgs, then we
would have been given implants to perform such tasks....
I think it is moronic idea to wrap something around your
eyes/head, much less wandering around in public like you
are the next best bad ass cyborg...just think it is silly laziness....

and when you end up killing someone, they are going to
sue you for being stupid, then everyone will end up suing google....

There are a lot of items sold that are dangerous. Are they all a liability? Do you see stickers on guns "Do not shoot. May kill people." What about kitchen knives? Table saw? Can Apple be taken to court for getting into car crash for driving while texting? Google should be fine with Glasses.

I am not sure about guns, but I bet you knives, table saws, etc would come with
warning labels, but then again, how many people do you know driving around
with a table saw in their lap...the point is, people sue for much less reasons...

"I spilled hot coffee in my lap, oh i think I will sue now....
Would there have been a lawsuit if the coffee had a warning label?

I would think it is just plain common sense to protect your own ass,
then wonder what someone will do with your product, and get sued....

If you really did any product research, then you would be shocked at
some things that have warning labels that you never thought would have them...
and why do you think that is? Some idiot did it, and probably won a lawsuit...
only then did they think it was wise to protect the company by placing a simple warning label...

and if it gets to dangerous, then it will just be discontinued as a bad idea...

Google Glasses seem like a strange device to me. Not quite sure I would want them and I am not sure Google would be liable in such cases.

If someone is able to walk out in front of car whilst using a cell/mobile I am sure the same is bound to happen with Google Glasses.

But as PolkRB said it's not likely Google could be held liable. Who knows though...

For sure, Google's expecting that and taking precautions. After all, they're no stranger to lawsuits or worse.

That's another problem. Yes, the price tag currently rumored online is very very high and it will not be for everyone right away. I personally would not even consider such G-Glasses for more than the price of an iPhone.

I guarantee someone out there is stupid enough to pay for them. Some people have to have the best gadgets!

As for a lawsuit, im sure some people out there make money solely from sueing companies for not marking the correct warning on their products, I think Google will be smart enough to mark 99.9 percent of possible issues, even if its with one generic one that says "Take care when using goggles as incorrect use could lead to serious injury"

I did see a product in england called "Just Nuts" or something like that, clearly had peanuts or something in the bag. They had to be removed from the shelf because they did not contain a warning that said

    "These products may contain nuts"

ridiculous!Without stupid people the world would be an easier place haha

I blame the lawyers. When a NORMAL person gets hurt or whatever, they dont instantly think who they can blame it on. But for lawyers that need more business, everything can be blamed on someone else, and I think in many cases they are the ones chasing people and pressuring idiots to sue.

Even if google puts in proper warning labels, they can still get sued if someone gets a papercut from reading the warning label.

Google is probably not stupid enough to not cover their butts with lots of warnings and stuff so they're not liable. People try to sue people all the time. I guess if you buy the glasses you're high profile enough to get some good lawyers to back you, even if it's for money after the case (for publicity) but yeah. I don't think they'll be sued. Someone might try but it's Google... and if they have warning stickers or whatever legal crap they need--they'll win.

If google does get sued you can be rest assured they have the money to fight off any case brought to their attention.

Has any cell phone company, to your knowledge, ever been held liable for texting and driving accidents?

Right. I do see some lawsuits related to violation of privacy coming though.

Are the glasses trying to read minds then? LOL Just kidding, there will likely be people trying to pull all sorts of angles.

Wherever there is some money there are those looking for angles to get at that money...

You're being such a kill joy.

I for one am extremely excited about this device. I can't imagine Google getting in the crap for this product either; look at the size of their legal team. Google probably wouldn't even care if they did get in trouble - they're Google !

    Extremely unlikely

Yeah, in the years to come, I can see many such incidents ahead. Google Glass is a products i'm not sure about, as there are so many things "potentially" wrong with it.
