They should start notifying the publishers also.

    About what?

The only time they should notify the publishers is with a "you are banned from our publisher network" email if they get into illegal activities.

They started notifying advertisers hmm.. but will they pay back those invalid clicks? I don't think so. The only thing what this may cause: advertisers stop using adwords..imo
G should make something like, if an IP clicks more then 2 then lower the CPC of all ads, thisway advertisers don't pay that much for the invalid clicks... what do you think?

If they started notifing publishers the scammers could figure out exactly how they get tracked down with trial and error..I agree, just the banning is best.

I think this is a good start. Sometimes I've been suspicious of clicks with no sales.

This is one of the most "worthless feel good" AdWords features I have ever seen.

My account shows 2,000+ invalid clicks yesterday. Now that I know that I can, well, wait until tomorrow to see a similiar number again. That's real helpful. Until I can actually do something with the data why bother providing it?

The fact they noticed 2000 clicks on your account shows how big the issue is. What sort of percentage was that?

How would that be a step forward? That would encourage people to generate massive amounts of click fraud hoping some of it makes it past google's filters.

That would not be a good idea at all.

The point of this is simply to put a real number with click fraud instead of the wild speculation going on. Unfortunately the analysts making claims of 20%, 30%, 40% will just say that this is only the click fraud google catches and the other 18%-35% of click fraud google is not catching and billing advertisers for... I am sure that will be the spin.

    Around 3%.

As I've stated before I think the whole click fraud issue is overblown.

Not to mention the 2K number means nothing. Unless they are providing me with some data I can use to validate it it's completely meaningless.
