From what I understand, you can contact google and offer the domain to them. If they ask for it they will probally give direction on how to push it to them or transfer it. If they ignore your request and later try and sue you will be able to say "i tried to give it to them but i was ignored!"

Don't contact Google. Just contact your registrar and tell them you want to drop the name. That is all.

Do not under any circumstances contact Google and offer to sell them the name, that will not help you and will only make your situation worse. If you no longer want it, either contact your registrar and drop it or leave it with no content until it expires. That is all you need to do.

To the OP: I 100% agree with this post this is practically all you can do with
your situation. It sucks if you don't get your money back, which is very likely
for this one, but believe me that things could've been worse...

...especially if you're within Google's physical reach. If you need some kind of
further "proof" of their taking action against things like this, search in Google
(heh) for their suing a Netherlands-based man for using their trademark in his
    non-.com domains without their permission.

this domain is a clear violation if there is one, but
    it is still online...I think...

even if you kept the domain online with no legal troubles...
google would almost certainly permanently derank the domain,
and it will never be of any real value...

you best advice, let it go, it will never be of any value to you. If i were a betting man, if you were to put it up, you would certainly be contacted by google in a very short period of time, as you have indeed already advertised the domain name in this thread, it would not take long at all...be sure to have a team of anti-google attorneys standing by....

instead, keep domain for sale in some good sites, and try to do another domain, if you really want to do non-profit organisations, you can keep any good name and develop it,

why did you choosed only "google",

    so, better remove it.

It is a sticky situation, indeed.

    It's your call...

Do it, but risk a shutdown request - maybe, or definitley

It is best to avoid and be on the safe side as most of the users before have said. I would like to just add a small popular phrase that has helped on many hard calls to make. Its just better to look for a new fresh idea than to probably get you're life ruined by a darn law sue.

" Better to prevent than to regret. "
