Digg gets your site indexed very quickly. I have heard wtories about it happening in the matter of a couple of hours so I tihnk that 24 hours is not unheard of. I moved from nowhere to 1st page within the matter of a few days (for a regional site) and it was only a couple of weeks old.

 

I got to first page (even top three) during my first week of blogging. Unfortunately, I dropped back after. Now, most of my traffic are coming from social bookmarking sites.

And I thought it actually ranked pages. Huh? Why does page 5 have no pagerank but page one has a rank of 2? Maybe they are not actually ranking pages? Maybe it's Siterank! What is your SR?

And there are many stories that hit page one for short periods of time based on the relevancy of the days events. If a plane crashes into a river and a lot of people are on board you can bet it will rank high and quickly.

 

Amen, Canonical. Green rep for the proper emphasis on "long term". I can grow a mushroom overnight, but it takes time to grow an oak tree.

I have one website that currently has 38 keywords on Google's page 1. If I counted long-tail keywords and noncompetitive keywords, there would be over 100 on page #1. These keywords got there — and they stay there — as a result of month after month, year after year, of applying time-honored on-page and off-page, white-hat SEO practices.

I'm not at all putting down the original poster. If that works for him, fine. But I am more impressed with webmasters who move many moderately competitive words up to the first page through diligent content-writing and a multi-faceted SEO program.

This is a fake. It's IMPOSSIBLE like Traffic-Bug says to get your site to the first page in 24 hours.

I would agree with fresh blogs appearing on First Page Google within 24 hrs, but sites? I dont think so

Ranking on Google first page withing 24 hours is pretty much impossible. Its even hard to get indexed within that time frame.

However if you have proof & would like to prove us all wrong then go ahead and prove it.

I've had Google index my blog within an hour. First page of the results. Number 1 in fact. But how important or profitable is that keyword, and how stiff is the competition?... That is the question.

 

Good post, but quite impossible to get keyword ranking within 24 hours.
